Chilling, uncomfortable, shocking. Also unsettling, weird, and depressing. This is a film that haunts you for a few days after seeing it. In the best way. I don’t care much for Steve Carell as a comedian, but I love him in the more serious roles. And this one is brilliant. Same goes for Channing Tatum; I don’t care much for him as a “heart throb” actor, but he is very impressive in this film. As is Mark Ruffalo, but I haven’t seen a performance by him that I didn’t like. His awards nominations for best supporting actor were more than deserved. A few horrible and shocking twists and turns make this a film that really captures your attention and doesn’t let go until days later.
