Film: St. Vincent

Title: St. Vincent
Cast: Bill Murray, Melissa McCarthy, Naomi Watts, Jaeden Lieberher
Seen on: December 08, 2014

I will admit to having to swallow past a lump in my throat at the end despite seeing the ending coming from miles away. Good acting, that. The role of Vincent is perfect for Bill Murray; cantankerous, grumpy, rude old man with a big, horrible secret. Jaeden Lieberher is perfect as the little boy that cracks Vincent’s shell and Melissa McCarthy is surprisingly subtle. Naomi Watts isn’t, but like everything else in this film, she’s just enough over the top that it’s fun rather than tacky. The story is entirely predictable, but it’s touching and the acting is solid.
